Michelle Buteau is bringing her talents back to Netflix with her first hour-long comedy special.
The hilarious comedian, who stars in BET’s First Wives Club, plans to deliver the night out we all need right now in her upcoming standup special, Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia.
“Letting loose with a goblet of frosé in hand, she delivers a dynamic hour of comedy that delves into parenthood, cultural difference, and the overlooked value of short men,” Netflix said in a statement. “Her refreshingly honest approach reminds us to appreciate government workers named Otis and, most importantly, that character counts.”
The multi-talented beauty, who is known for her stints on Key & Peele and Broad City, is sure to have a ton of real-life content to pull from to get us laughing again. Considering she has had to endure the coronavirus pandemic as a mother of twins, we can’t imagine what tales she’s ready to tell.
Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia is produced by Page Hurwitz And Wanda Sykes for Push It Productions.
Considering the duo’s previous successes on specials like the Emmy-nominated Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready, we’re looking forward to what’s in store.
Netflix has enjoyed a ton of success when it comes to their comedy content. Aside from They Ready, several of their other comedy specials earned Emmy nods this year. Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitsvah earned a nod for Best Variety Special and Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones was nominated in three categories.
Their latest standup special, Sam Jay: 3 in the Morning, debuted on the streamer on August 4 and it’s certainly worth a watch.
Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia premieres September 29 on Netflix.
