Donald Trump Jr. says the behavior of the alleged Kenosha shooter is due to teenage stupidity.
During an interview with Extra on Tuesday, Trump Jr. discusses waiting on due process and says the accusations of Kyle Rittenhouse can be explained by his age.
“We’re waiting for due process. We’re not jumping to a conclusion… If I put myself in Kyle Rittenhouse[‘s shoes], maybe I shouldn’t have been there. He’s a young kid,” he remarked when asked why President Donald Trump has not condemed the alleged shooter’s actions.
“I don’t want young kids running around the streets with AR-15s… Maybe I wouldn’t have put myself in that situation — who knows…? We all do stupid things at 17.”
Host Rachel Lindsey responded saying “It’s a little beyond stupid,” to which the eldest Trump son had a quick repsonse.
“Really stupid — fine. But we all have to let due process play out and let due process take its course,” he said.
Trump Jr. also spoke to the Black Lives Matter movement while a guest on Extra. Lindsey asks if he understands what the phrase means and what the fight is for.
“Of course. And I agree with it,” Trump Jr replied.“It’s a very good marketing message, it’s a great catchphrase, but that doesn’t back up a lot of the political ideology behind it.”
He appeared in promotion of his new book, ‘Liberal Privilege: Joe Biden and the Democrats Defense of the Indefensible’. The political advisor and businessman explains his new work is for “people who are on the fence.”
“Liberal privilege is the ability to have it both ways. Liberal privilege is Nancy Pelosi going to a hair salon, not wear[ing] a mask… but that same business owner is forced to be shut down,” he tells Extra.
